ZERO-DAY

We go on with our daily routine and feel somewhat secure and stable and everything is under control until one day we wake up and realize that we are the most vulnerable and face an attack of unseen danger we have not known before. An unexpected attack, similar to a "Zero-Day" attack. Our situation is comparable to the cyberattacks known as Zero-Day. Upon discovering a weakness in programming, the hacker quickly exploits it, without waiting or warning.

Our current situation resembles these attacks in the speed of the attack and the detection of weaknesses at the global level, which shocked all members of societies around the world societal shock. The COVID-19 epidemic crisis we face and the social isolation imposed on us have led to a multifaceted cognitive and emotional experience. Individuals have to face mixed feelings and confusing behaviours such as fear, cynicism, feelings of deprivation, anxiety, panic, and hysteria.

The project sheds light on the internal conflict resulting from changing the routine of daily life and the distance from the sources of stability and safety in life, where the individual feels the fear of those close to him and to them at the same time, also he feels alienation, responsibility, and the inability to deal with the sadness resulting from the impact of the epidemic on Close to him. This situation we have not faced before. Despite the individual's desire to get rid of the newly imposed restrictions on everyone and freedom from them, he faces a feeling of excessive anxiety which makes him wish to hide in complete isolation, which raises the following question: Will the individual be able to deal with these conflicting feelings and automatically return to the normal state when these decrease Restrictions whether or not will continue to feel social unrest and anxiety and continue to isolate when the pandemic ends?

This project is an audiovisual simulation of the multiple and mixed psychological and cognitive aspects of the individual in isolation.
